Trauma diagnoses differ from other mental health diagnoses and can defy "common sense" interactions. The Grammar of Trauma strives to describe and explain trauma symptoms and helpful approaches to those who have endured traumatic experiences in plain language.

About The Presenter

Dr. DeLucia is a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist familiar with adoption and foster care. Though she has worked with various populations and diagnoses including anxiety, mood, psychotic, and eating disorders, her professional area of interest is most focused on trauma. She graduated from the University of Maryland Medical School and completed adult residency and child and adolescent fellowship and the University of Maryland Sheppard Pratt programs. Currently the President of the Maryland Regional Council for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Head of the Subspecialty Committee for Maryland Psychiatric Society, she is also a member of the Victim Services Committee of the Maryland Human Trafficking Task Force as well as the Human Trafficking Clinical Collation. She has conducted forensic interviews for the Department of Defense regarding human trafficking. Dr. DeLucia participates in educating other physican's as the Training Director for the Child and Adolescent Fellows at Sheppard Pratt and works administratively as the Medical Director for Calvert Behavioral Health. Clinically, she sees hospitalized patients with a variety of diagnoses.
